Poetry Contest Rules
Sponsored by the Berlin Public Library and
Berlin Arts & Humanities Council
Contest rules:
l. Open to students attending a school in Berlin or home schooled.
2. There will be three categories for entrants:
Elementary school students
Middle School students
High school students
3. No more than one entry per student.
4. Entries must be sent or delivered to the Berlin Public Library, 121 W Park Avenue
by April 17, 2015 at 3pm.
5. Entries must be anonymous. DO NOT PUT YOUR NAME ON THE POEM.
Poems should be typewritten on 8 1/2 X 11 papers with accompanying cover sheet stapled to the poem. Cover sheet must indicate 1) person’s name, 2) person’s address, 3) person’s telephone number, and 4) which division, (see #2 above), the person is entering.
6. First prize will be $25, second prize will be $15, and third prize is $10. Prizes will be awarded in each division.
7. Winners will be announced after May 1, 2015
8. Poetry contest entrants are encouraged to read their poetry at Berlin Public Library’s “Poetry Reading” on May 7th at 6:30PM. Prizes will be awarded at the Poetry Reading.”
