Help us celebrate the updated children's department during a special open house from 4-6pm. The area received a bright, fun, and cheerful new look in 2018 with painted walls, new area rugs, a new playhouse, and large bulletin boards. Exciting non-traditional materials were also added to the collection in the form of Discovery Kits. These kits feature all kinds of equipment from a telescope to robotics. There are currently 20 kits available for checkout or in library use with plans to expand if well received by the community. During the open house these kits will be on display with staff and volunteers available to answer questions and demonstrate use of the equipment. There will also be light refreshments with hot chocolate and apple cider.
