The Berlin Public Library

The Friends of the Berlin Public Library was organized in 1967. Membership is open to everyone interested in supporting and promoting the Berlin Public Library. Fees are minimal.

They hold a membership drive annually, as well as used regularly-scheduled book sales.

The Friends lend financial support to a variety of programs, including:

  • "First Steps" -- program to encourage parents to read to their young child
  • the Summer Reading Program performers, tee-shirts and reading incentives
  • the On-site Senior Project -- provides wide variety of library materials to those living in senior housing
  • furnishings and equipment
  • library materials
  • volunteers for various projects from mending to data entry
